The Kawal Rock gin distillery is in the heart of the Hunter Valley where we produce unique quality gin, vodka and brandy from our 60 year old vines. Each bottle of gin is meticulously hand-filled in small batches on-site at the Kawal Rock distillery, ensuring the highest level of craftsmanship and attention to detail.

The Hunter Brandy

Our brandy is the only brandy produced in the Hunter Valley and we used the grapes that couldn't be picked during the 2019 bushfires. A stunning spirit made from locally sourced grapes and matured in French oak barrels for a minimum of 2 years.

Kawal Rock is proudly women owned and operated. Maria and Louise have been given the title "The Girls On The Hill" inspired by the location of their vineyard and distillery. With a dedication to excellence, Maria and Louise oversee every aspect of the production process at Kawal Rock ensuring nothing but the best.

The Distillery

We knew from the beginning that we wanted to create our distillery from as much recycled materials as possible. Our vision was to ensure minimum impact on the enviroment and to allow our space to connect with the beautiful surroundings. When visiting Kawal Rock you can really immerse yourself into the calm country and nothing beats one of our signature cocktails, whilst looking over the stunning Hunter Valley.

Picnic In The Sky

Picnic in The Sky by Hunter Valley Helicopters will have you and your partner enjoying a gourmet picnic with a bottle of Kawal Rock's finest Moscato high above the Hunter Valley on a rock formation on the side of a Sentry Mountain. Board your private helicopter and be taken high above the wine country. You will track over the amazing mountains and cliffs of the broken back range and Pokolbin state forest, flying over Broke on your way to Kawal Rock Distillery.
